The story behind Dialectical Pathways to Wellness

Every practice has a reason it exists. Here’s ours.

Our Story

Why this practice exists

I founded Dialectical Pathways to Wellness off the premise, no one should have to pick between therapy or paying their bills. Life will yes-and, you all the time, so why should therapy be different. A core principle of DBT is not treating others like they're fragile while also not validating the invalid. These principles are core to my practice and those who serve you within it.

I found myself becoming a therapist following my discharge from the military. I was discharged due to undisclosed mental health that I was unaware was in my records and it drastically altered my future forever. I want to ensure no one else ever has to be in an experience where they find themselves struggling and feeling like no one is there to support them. I started pursuing my Ph.D. following entering the field and have since become a clinical supervisor to give back to the field at large. Good clincal supervision is something many professionals relate to missing during their journey as a counselor and I am looking to help change that for future counselors.

What Guides Us

Our mission & our vision

Our Mission

Every person deserves to be met as a whole individual — not a diagnosis. Dialectical Pathways to Wellness® offers trauma-informed, individualized therapy through individual, couples, and family counseling, alongside clinical supervision and consultation for professionals growing their own practice. Our path is built around you — wherever you are on it.

Our Vision

Our vision is a space where every person feels seen, cared for, and supported, and where the harder conversations have room to happen too — because real growth toward your authentic self requires both.

  • DBT-informed — grounded in evidence-based skills for emotional regulation and distress tolerance
